We have been hard at work here at Crossroads Towers working on a new website for Long Acres, a local Stratford-upon-Avon vegetable box scheme.

Run by Husband & Wife team David & Emily Davies, Long Acres was setup in 2009 to provide Stratford-upon-Avon and the South Warwickshire area with a fresh, local and seasonal alternative to buying mass produced fruit & vegetables from the supermarket.

The new website enables customers to setup orders online for one off deliveries, as well as weekly and monthly continuous orders.

• Category Fly Out Menus – Displays categories and subcategories instantly in a fly out navigation menu, meaning fewer clicks to find the products shoppers are looking for.
• Limit Coupon Use by Location/Shipping Method – Use of coupons can be restricted based on the shoppers shipping location and/or shipping method, allowing complete control over coupon distribution, usage and termination for promotions.
• Free Shipping Eligibility Message – BigCommerce merchants can easily setup a discount rule which will entice customers to increase their average order value to qualify for free shipping. A message such as “Spend just $34 more to quality for free shipping!” can be customized and shown in various places during the shopping experience.
• Archive Orders – Instead of deleting orders, they are now archived and be restored with just one click if required.

BigCommerce 6 have this week announced that they are upgrading existing customers stores to version 6 of their software.

Rudy asked CRD to develop a new website for him that enabled him to sell his artwork online, whilst maintaining some of the blog functionality that he had with his old WordPress site.

Our solution was to use the BigCommerce e-commerce platform. With its inbuilt news system and associated RSS feed, it was possible to continue the auto pushing of posts to Facebook and Twitter that were so important to him, and produce a high end e-commerce solution.
